Learning the ins and outs of Foundry 3
While the latest version of Foundry sticks to the same easy-to-use methods of its predecessor it does include a vast array of new features, new tools and new workflows. Whether you're new to the framework beginning with Foundry 3, or a long time Foundry user, we've got your covered with lots of documentation and tutorail videos.
"You're a little scary sometimes, you know that? Brilliant... but scary."
I've created an extremely in-depth set of documentation pages for Foundry that will help you navigate the ins and outs of the framework and its settings. I've also created a large assortment of tutorial videos for you to learn from as well, as I know that many people, including myself, often learn better from video tutorials.
The Getting Started section of the site includes everything from the installation of Foundry and your First Steps, up through a brilliant video series focused on building a site from the ground up. I've teamed up with the experts over at RapidWeaver Classroom for the latter.
They've crafted a really wonderful series that will take you through building a site using Foundry's vast array of tools. Additionally RapidWeaver Classroom also offers an extensive catalog of tutorial videos for RapidWeaver and Stacks. So if you've not explored their offerings I'd highly encourage you to do so.
The Foundry Getting Started section also presents you with some additional tutorials on several individual tools, along with links to related tools. Many of the individual documentation pages even contain their own tutorial videos!
"I solemnly swear I am up to no good."
I'm currently in the process of recording even more videos for the tools that don't yet have one on their documentation page. So keep an eye out for those as well. I'm only one person though. I'll knock these out as time permits.
"When in doubt, go to the library."
If you've used Foundry in the past it will be a cakewalk for you to pick up on how this latest version works, giving you time to focus on taking in all of the new features like Toolbox, Blacksmith, Palette Laboratory and so much more!
If you're brand-new to the platform, I'm really happy to have you in the Foundry community and think you'll pick it up pretty easily. As with anything in life there's always a learning curve. If you happen to get stuck, or are just looking for some sage design advice, don't forget to visit our support community where you can search the previous posts and we as a community can answer your specific questions and to check out the extensive documentation and frequently asked questions sections of the site.
